With Jose Mourhino exiting from Chelsea midweek this game just got a whole lot trickier to handicap. The Chelsea players did not look to be in revolt against their manager on Monday night, I thought each and everyone of them tried very hard with maybe the exception of the injured Eden Hazard who looks like he needs a break as he's playing like a tired man. Diego Costa did everything but score, got in good positions, harrassed both center and full backs, kicked midfielders and was his usual general nusance. Willian was again excellent and is having a fine season for Chelsea but it's at the back where they keep making silly mistakes that Chelsea are being punished. Courtois maybe one of the best goalkeepers in the world but if he keeps getting exposed to one on ones from six yards he's not going to look like a good keeper.
Its understandable that the Champions are still favourites in this one given they play the team that are sitting in ninteenth and only have twelve points from sixteen games. But should Chelsea be 1/3 against a fellow relegation battler , because that simply is what Chelsea are right now. I dont think so. Sam Allardyce will set his team up here to be hard to beat and to frustrate a blunt Chelsea attack. It's difficult to have any faith in Chelsea right now though and at 1/3 I couldnt take them at that price right now. In fact I think Sunderland +2 on the handicap looks one of the plays of the weekend. With Defoe and Fletcher up front Sunderland can definitely hit Chelsea on the counter attack and one goal should be enough to cover the handicap even if Chelsea win the game.
Take Sunderland +2 and see if we can win some money off the basket case that is Chelsea football club, if Mourhino ends up at Old Trafford then Chelsea & Abramovich could regret this silly snap decision to sack the most decorated manager in Chelsea history.
