Chelsea picked up a win last week against second from bottom Sunderland in their first game since the sacking of Jose Mourhino but on Saturday they face a much bigger test in the form of Watford who have won their last four games. Stamford Bridge will be rocking after Christmas and the blues fans will be expecting a big performance from their side but this is a classic let down spot. With Chelsea still struggling defensively I think that Gus Hiddink's first job will be to address the problems they have been having at the back. Yes Oscar, Pedro and the attacking quartet in general looked much better last week but that was against the worst defence in the Premier League.
Watford are a tough team to play against and are up to seventh in the league table and possess one of the best strike partenrships in the league in Deeney and Ighalo. Ighalo in particular has been very difficult for teams to deal with his pace and Deeney's strength the two seem to have an almost telepathic link as well and will take some stopping. Watford are also a team that work extremely hard and are solid defensively. I think that this side has proven time and again this season to be able to frustrate the big guns. Watford have also only lost two away games all season to Manchester City and Leicester, this is a team who is full of confidence and they will go to Stamford Bridge and think that they can get something from this one.
No way am I taking Chelsea at 2/5 against this Watford team. The bookmakers are feelling extra festive to us this year and giving us a gift here.Watford +2 is the bet of the weekend and I will be all over it. The hornets could well shock the Premier League and come away with a win straight up here and that 8/1 about them doing that is very tempting.
