Chicago Fire vs Toronto FC - 7/21/18 MLS Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Marc DesRosiers-USA TODAY Sports

Chicago will be graced with soccer this weekend as the Chicago Fire play their next MLS game at home. They will be taking on Toronto FC in a game that all the players should enjoy playing. There is tons of talent in both teams and it will be very interesting to see what players step up and make a difference to the overall result.

Toronto FC have been severely underperforming this season and this was very clear as they lost their last MLS game to a struggling, Kaka-less Orlando City team. This is not acceptable for a franchise that has players like Michael Bradley and Sebastian Giovinco. While no team should ever give up, it seems like this team has given up on this season. As it currently stands, Toronto FC are second last on the Eastern Conference standings but there is hope since Chicago are only 7 points ahead of them so this is a possible game to win.

On the other side of the coin, the Chicago Fire will be desperate to ensure that they win this match and move up the ladder. The home side has played more games than most teams and will know that they must start winning if they wish to avoid being the bottom team in the Eastern Conference. Based on form, Chicago will be confident that they can beat Toronto FC at home. That being said, the players will be cautious since there is too much talent in Toronto for an easy win.

All in all, this is a tough game to predict since neither side is playing well. That being said, I am going to side with the home team by predicting that the Chicago Fire wins. I don’t think the Toronto FC players care anymore and that attitude will cause them to lose this game. We are getting a great price to bet on Chicago to win so that is the wager which I am going to suggest we make for this fixture.

Pick:
Chicago Fire
