Colombia +105 / Chile +260 / Draw +230
In the quarterfinals of the 2019 Copa America, Chile will play against Colombia.
Colombia have been outstanding throughout this tournament and maintain a perfect record having won all 3 of their group stage games. In their previous outing, Colombia defeated Paraguay 1-0.
During the win against Paraguay, Colombia displayed a measured approach as they took the lead in the 34th minute and maintained their advantage throughout the contest. Gustavo Cuéllar scored the only goal of the match for Colombia.
Throughout this tournament, Colombia have defended exceptionally well. Christain Zapata has led the Colombian defense and the results have been outstanding as the team has conceded no goals. Colombia have only scored 4 goals in this tournament but they have won all their games which shows that the team has been balanced in approach. Considering their position in the group, this is a tough draw but Colombia should be optimistic as they are winning games.
Looking at their opponent, Chile finished the group stage with 6 points. Chile were defeated in their previous game as they lost to Uruguay.
Chile will feel unlucky about the result against Uruguay as they controlled 58% of the ball and had more shots than their opponents. Unfortunately for Chile, the team conceded in the 82nd minute as Edinson Cavani won the game for Uruguay.
In general, Chile have been outstanding in this tournament as they had big wins against the likes of Japan and Ecuador. Players like Alexis Sanches and Eduardo Vargas look in good touch and the team is playing well. Chile are the reigning champions and their experience of winning this tournament will be vital in this match.
This match between Chile and Colombia is set to be played at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo.
Colombia have been outstanding throughout this tournament and that is evident as the team maintains a perfect record. That being said, I see Colombia losing this fixture. Chile have also been outstanding in this tournament and with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal in the team, they have tons of experience. Both teams are equally gifted with talent but Chile have the experience which I see playing a vital role in a knockout game. Having already won this title in the recent past, I see Chile have enough to qualify for another Copa America semifinals.
