Colombia showed their talent last World Cup and have since established themselves as one of the top sides in the international world football scene. This tournament, Colombia will be looking to have a deep run and winning their opening game against Japan is something which they will be determined to do.
Japan have been one of the better Asian sides and they will look to make it to the knockout stages of the competition. This side is filled with talent with the likes of Kagawa and Honda coming off strong seasons in domestic football. In addition to that, Kagawa from Leicester City has proven that he can score goals. This combination is deadly and against many teams, it could get the Japanese over the line.
On the other side of the coin, Colombia will look to top the group since they will feel they are the best side. This team is filled with talent including the likes of James Rodriguez, Carlos Bacca, and Juan Cuadrado. If the Colombian defense can hold together, the attacking threat can take the South American side a long way into this competition. As far as this game is concerned, I think that Colombia will be way too strong for Japan and should get all three points.
Looking at the odds, we are not getting a good price to wager on Colombia and as a result, we should avoid wagering on the outright result. I think the best bet is going to be the over 2.5 goals. Colombia are filled with talent in the attacking third and I think the South Americans will score 3 goals on their own. In addition to that, Japan have the ability to score also so this seems like a safe wager.
