Croatia vs Greece 9 November 2017: World Cup Qualifier Preview and Predictions

Croatia takes on Greece at home for the first leg of their World Cup qualifying play-off. This game will be very important in deciding which of these teams will make it to Russia this summer and as a result, I am expecting a really hard fought game of football.

Greece are a side that doesn't have many superstars but have still managed to be reasonably successful in recent years. This will not be an easy game for them as they are up against one of the best sides in the world and they will be away from home. I am expecting the Greeks to play a tight, defensive style of football and hope to control the damage in this leg so they have a chance to win it at home in a few days time.

Croatia, on the other hand, will look to win this game in the 90 minutes they will play at home and by doing so, ensure the game in Greece is just a formality. This side has some of the most talented footballers in the world including Real Madrid superstar, Luca Modric. The midfielder will look to control the game and if he can do that, I don’t see a situation where Croatia don’t win.

As far as betting is concerned, I think we are not getting a good enough price to bet on Croatia to win this game. That being said, I think the price we are getting on the over 2.5 goals is good enough. I am expecting Croatia to try and blow this game open at home and as a result, there should be a lot of goals. It might take a little while to get the first goal, but once the gates are open there should be a lot of scoring.
