Croatia and Italy come face to face on Friday night in what could be a defining moment in Group H of the Euro 2016 qualifiers. Croatia currently hold a two point lead at the top of the group and a win here over Italy would cement Croatia's place at the top of the group. Croatia are led by Dario Srna and will be missing star man Luka Modric who looks set to miss this game through injury. With Mario Mandzukich of Atletico Madrid up front and Barcelona's Champion League winning midfielder Rakitic there is plenty of attacking talent but the game will be won in midfield where Perisic and Rakitic must stop Pirlo getting time on the ball.
Conte's Italy will be looking to Gabbiadini and Pelle up front as the Southampton and Napoli men look to fire Italy to a win that would put them in control of the group. Buffon will continue to lead by example here and while Italy do have a solid team they dont have that star quality up front that is needed in these big qualifier games. There is plenty of talent in the squad and Marchisio and Pirlo just played a Champions League final but I am not sure they have enough to beat a very good Croatia team here.
Understandably Croatia are favourites here at home and I find it hard to not take the Croats here in what should be a good game. At the end of the day these games are often decided by the smallest margins and I think the quality that Croatia have up front might just be the difference. Not a huge play but enough to make me take them I am on Croatia to get the win on Friday
