DC United made a big announcement as the revealed that England and Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, was joining the club. This game will be the first time that the English superstar plays in the MLS and there is much anticipation around the clash. Rooney will play his first MLS game at home as DC United take on the Vancouver Whitecaps at Audi Field in Washington DC. This is a big game in MLS history and I am sure the players will give us a game to remember.
As far as the Vancouver Whitecaps are concerned, this is another game and another chance to get three points. The visitors will not see this game as a special occasion and will try to be as professional as possible. The Whitecaps had a big win in their last outing as they beat Chicago. That victory moved Vancouver to 6th of the Western Conference ladder and they are now only one win behind the team in 4th. With that knowledge in mind, Vancouver will be desperate to win this game since there is still tons of life in this season for the Canadian team.
On the other side of the coin, DC United will want to ensure that Wayne Rooney’s debut will result in a win. The home side have not had a good season and are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. They would have hoped for better this season but with the addition of Rooney, things should improve. While there is hope for DC United, I don’t think Rooney will have enough of an impact in this game to make a game-changing difference. DC United are much worse than the Vancouver Whitecaps and it is hard to see the home side winning.
That being said, I think that DC United will get a draw. This is a big occasion for the home team and there should be a huge crowd at the stadium. I expect the home crowd to get the team a point. We are getting a great price to wager on a draw so that is the bet which I am going to suggest we make.
