Denmark take on Albania in Kobenhaven on Friday with both teams in good shape in the Group. Portugal top the group by two points but a win for Albania tomorrow night will see them take top spot. Albania have been the surprise package of the qualifying campaign thus far with their wins over Serbia, Portugal and their draw with Denmark. Led by Gashi, Sadiku and Kace this is a team that is going in the right direction and Albania have a team now that can compete in qualifying campaigns. This would be a huge achievement if Albania could get through to the Euro's and one that would prove to other small nations that with improvement these sides can make it to major competitions.
Denmark though will be looking to utilise their home advantage and to take a win here that would move them to the top of the group. With a solid team filled with quality players like Tottenhams Christian Erikson and Wolfsburg's Nicolas Bendtner this is a Danish side that will hope to get a win and take control of their own fate in the group. Danish manager Morten Olsen will look to his experienced players like Krohn Deli, Aggar and Poulsen to keep his side focused on the job at hand because there is alot of youth in this squad and even player like Erikson who is only twenty three may need some focus on Friday as Albania are a very good side.
For me this game should be a coinflip, yes Denmark have home advantage but this is a very good Albania side. I think the bookmakers are over estimating home advantage here and Albania have an away win against Portugal, this is a side that have proven they can play under pressure. I am going to take Albania +1 on the handicap in what should be a fascinating game.
