A top of the Championship game will see Derby County host Watford on Friday night. Derby are in the midst of a terrible run having lost four of their last six games, dropping from top of the Champonship to fifth and in real danger of missing the playoff if they continue on this form. Steve McClaren will be hoping his side can get things back on track on Friday night when they host a Watford team that have risen to second in the table. Tom Ince and Chris Martin are the key players for Derby going forward, both have struggled of late and with their struggles Derby have fallen flat. Martin in particular has not scored in twelve and the addition of Darren Bent in January seems to have dented Martin's confidence. Bent is a goalscorer but he has struggled of late as well and McClaren needs his veteran to inspire some confidence in his young side.
Watford have won five of seven and look like a team destined for automatic promotion, the top of the Championship is very tight though and any slip ups could see Watford drop out of the automatic places, with Norwich and Middlesbrough breathing down their necks though Watford must continue to win. Watford have quality inform strikers in Deeney, Vydra and Ighola and will really put Derby's backline to the test on Friday night. Watford have been out of the Premier League eight years and the Hornets fans are really excited about the potential return to the top flight. If Watford can continue to play as they have been in recent weeks , the wait may be up.
Two good teams here, Derby are better than their recent results and I think they are due a little bit of luck. Watford have been on fire recently though and I think they put in a big performance tomorrow night. I am going to take both teams to score , this one should be a cracking game of football.
