Serie A league leaders Inter Milan travel to the Stadio Carlo Castellani (Empoli) to take on a bang in form Empoli side who have won four in a row in the league and have moved into the top ten. Empoli led by former Middlesbrough striker Maccarone have been a revelation in recent weeks. With four wins out of five at home they are in confident mood and the front three of Maccarone, Saponara and Pucciarelli will look to take the game to the league leaders in what should be a really entertaining game.
Inter Milan have been getting the job done all season with alot of 1-0 wins under Roberto Mancini. On loan Manchester City striker Jovetic, Icardi and Ljajic are all contributing as the team is pushing for it's first title since the Jose Mourhino days. Inter are a good team with a solid defence and if they have any weakness' it is that their striker force arent always as clinical as they should be. While Icardi is top scorer for the team with seven he has actually regressed a little from last season where he appeared to be more involved in most games. Mancini has a solid defence though led by Murilla and Miranda and they will be tough to break down.
This one has all the ingredients to be a cracking game, we have a confident Empoli side, at home facing an Inter Milan team who need a win to stay ahead of Juvetus, Fiorentina, Napoli and the rest of the chasing pack. Normally I would take the overs here without hesitation but with Mancini I do worry that he will be more afraid of losing than trying to win here. So I think that this one could end up in a low scoring low chances affair as Inter Milan come and set up to take a point. Empoli are flying to be fair to them but if Inter Milan want to win the title they have to come here and win, just as Juventus did a month back. I'm taking the draw.
