England is hosting Bulgaria in round 5 of Group A Euro Cup Qualifications.
England is a fantastic young team with some of the best players in the world. Kane, Sterling, Henderson, and Wilson are some of the experienced players in this team, but young stars like Rashford, Sancho, Rice, and Arnold are the future of this squad. In their last game against Switzerland in UEFA Nations League match for third place, England was a better team with 5 shots on goal, 60% of ball possession, 9 corner kicks, and 87% of correct passes but wasn't able to score a goal and the game went to overtime and penalty shootout which England won. In these qualifications, England is in the group with the Czech Republic, Kosovo, Bulgaria, and Montenegro and is at the top of the standings with 6 points and 10 scored goals in 2 matches. Last year at the World Cup in Russia, England has reached semi-finals where they lost against Croatia. Later on, England played Belgium in the match for third place and also lost. England is playing strong and fast soccer with high pressure when not in possession of the ball. Since Gareth Southgate was signed as a head coach back in November of 2016., England has been constantly improving and became one of the best teams in Europe. Every player that got called up is healthy and ready to prove their worth to coach Southgate, and we are yet to see who will start in the next two games.
Bulgaria is a total disaster who hasn't won any of their last 7 games. In their last match against Kosovo, Bulgaria was bad with only 44% ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks and only 71% of correct passes. Bulgaria has lost this game 2-3 by a goal in 92nd minute. It was a very sad night for Bulgarian fans and their chances to get qualified to Euro Cup are practically gone. Bulgaria is slowly rebuilding their team by adding some young blood, but it will be a few years before those players mature because young talent development in Bulgaria is on a really low level. Bulgaria has conceded 7 goals in 4 matches in these qualifications, and the only positive thing is that they were able to score at least 1 goal in each of those 4 games. Balakov was signed as a head coach in June of this year, but unless he changes something and gets this team in a better form, I don't think he will coach for much longer. Todor Nedelev is the best player in Bulgaria's team with an average rating of 7.13. There is no enough quality in this Bulgarian team and for that reason, they don't have a distinctive game style. I think that Bulgaria is maybe the worst team in this group and 60th place in FIFA standings is where they belong at the moment.
England is by far the better team in every aspect of the game here. Bulgaria and England haven't played against each other since 2011. so I won't take and head to head matches into consideration. England is a goal-scoring machine and a team that could finally reach the finale of a major competition like the Euro Cup. Bulgarian defense is a disaster and for that reason, I will pick something on goals here.
