Crystal Palace vs Everton: Crystal Palace had a decent preseason as they defeated teams like Nottingham Forest and Bristol City. The Eagles have made some decent signings with the likes of James McCarthy and Victor Camarasa joining the club. Wilf Zaha is expected to leave but the winger but no official transfer has been confirmed. Looking at Everton, they have made good additions like Moise Kean from Juventus. Everton have the stronger side but with this match at Selhurst Park, I see Crystal Palace being good enough to get a draw.
Burnley vs Southampton: Both Burnley and Southampton were lucky to survive relegation last season as they finished 15th and 16th respectively. It has been a relatively quiet transfer window for both teams with no major players joining or leaving. Southampton’s biggest singing has been Danny Ings from Liverpool while Burnley had signed Jay Rodriguez from West Brom. Neither team looks impressive but I see Burnley being too good for Southampton since they are playing at home.
Watford vs Brighton: Watford had a very impressive campaign last season as they made the final of the FA Cup. No major transfers have taken place for Watford although they have signed Danny Welbeck from Arsenal. Welbeck will provide goals to the team. Looking at Brighton, the team only avoided relegation by 2 points as they finished in 17th position. No big players have joined Brighton and it is hard to see how the team has improved from last season. Watford are a significantly stronger side and I see them being too good for Brighton, especially at home.
Bournemouth vs Sheffield United: Sheffield United will be making their Premier League return following a very strong season in the Championship. Sheffield United finished second in the Championship. The biggest name that Sheffield United have signed is Phil Jagielka who is expected to give the defense some stability. On the other side of the coin, Bournemouth have added Harry Wilson on loan for this season from Liverpool. Bournemouth have not made big additions but the team already had great balance and they will be optimistic about this season. At home, I see Bournemouth being too strong for Sheffield United.
Leicester City vs Wolves: Leicester City have had a big transfer window where they have made huge profits from the sale of Harry Maguire to Manchester United. There have been some good additions to the Leicester City side with Youri Tielemans and Ayoze Perez joining the team. This is a tough start to the season but Leicester City will be confident at home. Looking at Wolves, the team has made good additions with Patrick Cutrone joining from AC Milan. Wolves were very impressive last season as they finished 7th. Both Leicester City and Wolves have promising squads but I see this match being a draw. Early in the season, both teams may be cautious which should lead to the points being split.
