There are plenty of exciting matchups in the Premier League this weekend, but I’ve chosen to look at three games offering some promising value. Tottenham will be looking end Liverpool’s remarkable unbeaten run, while Leicester will be hoping to record another high-scoring victory over Southampton. Sheff Utd vs. West Ham is set to be a tight encounter.
Here are the best bets for the upcoming round of Premier League fixtures.
Sheffield United vs. West Ham United – 1/10/20
Sheff Utd currently sit eighth, while West Ham find themselves down in sixteenth. It’s fair to say that both teams have enjoyed very different campaigns so far, but the Hammers will be looking to move up the table under the guidance of new manager David Moyes. West Ham thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 in Moyes’ first game in charge, while the Blades were beaten by Liverpool in their previous league match. However, Chris Wilders’ side have been extremely solid at the back this season, so Sheff Utd will make life difficult for the resurgent Hammers. For that reason, the draw at 3.50 is very tempting here.
Pick: The Draw – 3.50
Leicester City vs. Southampton – 1/11/20
Leicester inflicted the joint-heaviest Premier League defeat on Southampton earlier in the season. The Foxes humiliated Saints 9-0 at St. Mary’s, but the south coast side’s form has picked up since then. Southampton have dragged themselves out of a relegation battle and now sit twelfth in the table. On the other hand, Leicester are second – one point clear of third-place Manchester City. I can’t see Leicester scoring nine again, but I don’t think they will score at least three this time around. A home win is at 1.50, so add the over 2.5 goals market into the mix to boost the odds.
Pick: Leicester City to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 2.08
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Liverpool – 1/11/20
The game of the weekend sees Spurs host Liverpool. The Reds have won 19 of their 20 league games this season and look set to claim their first-ever Premier League title after opening up a 13-point lead at the top of the table. By contrast, Tottenham are struggling for consistency and currently sit sixth. Still, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho always rises to the occasion in big games, so he will no doubt have plans to shut down the Reds’ potent attack. But I can’t see Liverpool losing this game, so I think it will be a cagey affair. Under 2.5 goals looks good here.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals – 2.25
