The Premier League’s bottom two clubs meet at Carrow Road on Saturday as Norwich host Bournemouth. Danny Ings will be looking to continue his red-hot goalscoring form as Saint welcome Wolves, while Liverpool can make it seven straight clean sheets in all competitions if they keep a clean sheet against Man Utd on Sunday.
Here are this weekend best bets from the English top-flight.
Southampton vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers – 1/18/20
After a dismal start to the season, Southampton have climbed up to twelfth following a five-game unbeaten run which has seen Saints claim four victories. On the other hand, Wolves are without a win in their last three league games. Defeats to Liverpool and Watford were followed by a draw with Newcastle last time out. Southampton’s outstanding recent run is largely down to Danny Ings’ goals. The Saints striker has scored ten in his last eleven appearances, so you’d be foolish to bet against him adding to his tally against Wolves.
Pick: Danny Ings to Score Anytime – 2.10
Norwich City vs. Bournemouth – 1/18/20
Bottom side Norwich host relegation rivals Bournemouth on Saturday. The Canaries have won just three of their 22 league games this season and have 14 points to their name. Norwich have failed to win any of their last nine matches. As for Bournemouth, they have 20 points after notching up five wins, but have only won one of their last eleven. Defeat for Norwich this weekend would be disastrous, while a loss for Bournemouth would drag them further into the relegation battle. Neither side will want to lose this game, so I can see this matchup ending in a draw.
Pick: The Draw – 3.50
Liverpool vs. Manchester United – 1/19/20
Liverpool look set to claim their first top-flight title in 30 years after opening up a fourteen-point lead at the top of the table. By contrast, Man Utd recently endured their worst start to a season for over 30 years. The gulf between these two sides is huge at the moment, and this is backed up by the bookies offering odds of 8.00 for the away win on Sunday. A Liverpool win is at 1.33, but considering Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t conceded a single goal in their last six games in all competitions, I’m backing Liverpool to win while keeping a clean sheet.
Pick: Liverpool to Win and Keep a Clean Sheet – 2.20
