The Premier League table is starting to take shape and there has been no shortage of goals in the opening three rounds.
Liverpool lead the way, and are the only team to have a 100% record, while all three newly promoted teams have made sufficient starts.
Trends are already beginning to emerge, making it easier for us to predict what is going to happen when two teams come up against each other.
Let’s take a look at the best bets and top picks from the Premier League 2019/20 Round 4.
West Ham United vs. Norwich City – 8/31/19
West Ham and Norwich have conceded 15 goals between them in their first three Premier League matches this season, with the Canaries registering the worst defensive record so far (-8). Both teams suffered heavy opening-day defeats but have since bounced back to claim victories. In Teemu Pukki and Sebastien Haller, there will be two of the leagues’ in form strikers on show. Couple this with both sides’ poor defensive records, and both teams to score is looking like a decent bet.
Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.4
Leicester City vs. Bournemouth - 8/31/19
Unlike West Ham or Norwich, Leicester boast the joint-best defensive record in the Premier League so far. The Foxes have conceded just twice in three matches and are looking extremely solid at the back. Bournemouth haven’t been bad, but they haven’t looked at their free-flowing best just yet. Leicester have an array of exiting attacking options and I'm backing them to fire their team to victory over Bournemouth while the defense keeps things tight at the back.
Pick: Leicester City to Win and Keep a Clean Sheet – 3.08
Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur - 9/1/19
The north London derby is always a thrilling encounter, and it is a fixture that has historically conjured up plenty of goals. Arsenal and Spurs have started the new season in shaky fashion and both teams’ defenses have been less than convincing. With the likes of Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on show on Sunday, goals aren’t likely to be in short supply. It’s unclear which way the game will go, so it’s best to steer clear of the win/lose market and find a more probable bet elsewhere. Taking everything into consideration, I am predicting that a total of four or more goals will be scored between the two teams.
Pick: Over 3.5 Goals – 2.4
