EPL: Best Bets – Round 5 – Odds, Predictions, and Picks

The English Premier League is back after the international break and there are plenty of exciting betting opportunities for Round 5.

Can Liverpool make it five wins from five? Will Pukki score against Manchester City? Can Arsenal secure a big victory over struggling Watford?

Let’s take a look at this week’s EPL best bets.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United – 9/14/19

Liverpool host Newcastle in the early kick-off on Saturday. The Reds are the only team with a 100% record this season while the Magpies have picked up just four points from a possible twelve. Newcastle have only scored three Premier League goals so far and I can’t see them troubling Liverpool’s solid defense. Liverpool have scored at an average of three goals per game this season and are likely maintain that average this weekend. The Reds have beaten Newcastle in their last three meetings, scoring nine goals in the process.

Pick: Liverpool to Win, Keep a Clean Sheet, and Score Over 2.5 Goals – 2.84

Norwich vs. Manchester City - 9/14/19

Saturday’s late kick-off sees Norwich face Man City at Carrow Road. The Canaries have endured a mixed start to life back in the Premier League but despite picking up just three points, they have scored six goals. Five of Norwich’s goals have come from one man, Teemu Pukki, and while he is on the pitch, there is always the possibility of Norwich finding the back of the net. Reigning champions Manchester City should be too strong for the Canaries on Saturday, but with star defender Aymeric Laporte out injured, they are more likely to concede on their way to victory.

Pick: Manchester City to Win and Both Teams to Score – 2.0

Watford vs. Arsenal - 9/15/19

Watford sit rock bottom of the Premier League table with just a single point from their opening four matches. The Hornets have conceded eight goals so far and, after Norwich City, Watford possess the worst defensive in the league. With a new manager at the helm, it may take a while for the team to gel. On the other hand, Arsenal have looked dangerous in attack and the front three of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe caused Spurs plenty of problems in Round 4. They will be licking their lips at the prospect of coming up against Watford’s weak defense. Arsenal are likely to get off to a flier on Sunday, and I can see the Gunners winning both halves.

Pick: Arsenal to Win Half Time/Full Time – 3.1

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
