Early action from the Barclays Premier League will see Everton host relegation threatened Sunderland in Goodison Park. Everton come into these last three games with little to play for as they are going to finish mid table no matter what the results. The toffees were on a strong run of form with four wins from five until last weekend when they came unstuck at Villa Park losing the game 3-2 but the result is a little flattering to Everton as Aston Villa were far better. Everton manager Roberto Martinez will want his side to finish the season strongly but it is hard to motivate players at this time of the year and Everton are facing a Sunderland team that are fighting for their survival.
Sunderland are still in the relegation zone despite a terrific win over Southampton last weekend, the black cats are in real trouble at the moment as not only is their own form suspect but those teams they are trying to catch have all started winning games and Sunderland need help. Firstly they need to win their own games but they also need some help from those playing Leicester Hull and Villa. Sunderland will look to Jermain Defoe, Fletcher and Wickham to get the goals to fire them to safety but equally important will be the defensive work of Cattermole, Brown and O'Shea. Sunderland have four games to save themselves and they need something from this trip to Everton.
This time of the year is quite often the graveyard of punters and it is one I am wary of. I'm taking the draw here, I think Sunderland set up to defend and look to hit on the counter attack. Everton are going to be tough to beat at home but I just think that Sunderland have more necessity here and I think they will get something from the game, the draw represents decent value in my opinion.
