FC Barcelona vs Lyon - 3/13/19 - UEFA Champions League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

FC Barcelona will host Lyon at the Camp Nou in Barcelona for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League tie. The tie is current 0-0.

Getting a draw against FC Barcelona is a tough task and Lyon would have left the opening leg relatively happy with the result. Leading up to this leg, Lyon have been in decent form. In their last outing, Lyon played Strasbourg away from home in a match that ended 2-2. It was a good performance with Moussa Dembele showing his class by scoring 2 goals. This is going to be a very tough outing for Lyon but after their performance in the first leg, the team will be confident that they can challenge FC Barcelona.

On the other side of the coin, FC Barcelona enter this match in supreme form after they won 3-1 at home over the weekend. The match was dominated by Barcelona as they had over 60% of the ball and completed 6 shots on target. Leo Messi and Luis Suarez both look in good form as the pair of attacking players both scored. Barcelona will know that they must win this match and considering the talent of the team, they will be confident that they can produce a positive result.

During the first leg, Barcelona dominated the tie as they took 25 shots and had the majority of the ball. The opening leg result was largely determined by the crowd as they gave Lyon a big lift to defend and prevent FC Barcelona from scoring.

As far as this match is concerned, I am going to pick FC Barcelona to win. Barcelona are a significantly stronger side and they should be too good for Lyon at home. Messi and Suarez are in terrific form and it hard to see how Lyon can stop them from scoring for another 90 minutes. The odds are stacked in the favour of Barcelona and I see them delivering the expected result.
