Barcelona is welcoming Real Betis this weekend as part of round 2 of Spanish LaLiga.

Barcelona has opened this season in a sloppy way against Athletic Bilbao last weekend. In that game, Barcelona was dominant in their usual way by having 72% of ball possession, 86% of correct passes, 8 corner kicks but only 2 shots on goal and has lost 1-0 with a goal in 89th minute. Last season, same as many times before, Barcelona was the best team in LaLiga from the beginning until the end of the season and has won the title with 87 points, 90 scored goals and only 36 conceded goals. Offensively, Barcelona is probably the best team in the world with Messi, Griezman, Dembele, and Suarez but their biggest problem is those black holes throughout the season on the defensive end. Pique is not a young player anymore, Langlet has a lot of potential same as Umtiti, Todibo, and Semedo but they all need another season or two on the highest level to get more experience. Marc-Andre ter Stegen is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and will be between the posts this weekend. Barcelona was playing without Messi last week who had calf injury and that was the main reason for Barcelona's poor offensive performance. Messi is now healed and ready and will be in the starting lineup for this match. Dembele got injured this week during practice, while Suarez is still on a day to day basis. Barcelona is once again the main favorite to win LaLiga and if they manage to stay healthy and if coach Valverde will rotate players during the season, Barcelona will be one of the main favorites to win Champions League as well.

Real Betis is a solid team who finished last season on 10th place in the standings with 50 points. Coach Rubi was signed in July of this year and is yet to prove that he was the right choice for this club because in the preseason period Betis wasn't perfect but some good moments shoved clear direction of how this team wants to play. Nabil Fekir was the most notable signing for Betis this summer who was one of the best players in French League 1 last season and will be a great addition to this team. In their first game of the season, Betis wasn't great with 47% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 83% of correct passes and has lost 1-2 after playing with 1 player less because Robles got a red card in 8th minute. Betis likes to play fast soccer mostly through their wingers and likes to compete with their opponents. Betis is not the team that will play on high ball possession or high ball pressure, instead, they will try to control the midfield and then create their attacks. Betis has the quality to be in the top 6 and qualify for Europa League, and it's gonna take a few games for chemistry to build up and good form to come but I believe that this team is capable of a lot more than they accomplished last season.

Barcelona is the better team without any discussion and hasn't lost any of their last 21 home games. With Barcelona playing at home, Betis has won only 3 games out of last 23 while 3 games ended up in a draw. I'm not giving a lot of chances to Betis here and I believe that Barcelona will create a lot of chances here and score at least 2 goals.
