Barcelona is set to host Real Madrid in first leg of semifinal in Spanish Copa del Rey.

Barcelona is playing really vell at the moment. This past weekend Barcelona played 2-2 against Valencia in an exciting game with a lot of chances on both sides. Messi led Barceloana with 2 goals but near the end of the match  he was  injured and his status is still unknown. Rafinha, Umtiti and Cillessen are all injured and will not play this game. Barcelona is playing solid soccer with a lot of passes and high possession. Barcelona’s biggest problem is defense and vulnerability to counter attacks because defenders are positioned pretty high on the field. In quarterfinals of Copa del Rey Barcelona played against Sevilla and lost in first leg and then beat Sevilla in second leg. All of the best Barcelona’s players are expected to play except Messi as his injury status is still unknown.

Real Madrid is one of the top teams in Spain and Europe. After a shaky start of the season, Real Madrid is finally waking up and showing us what kind of a team they are. Benzema leads Real Madrid with 4 goals in this competition and is expected to play alongside Modric, Kroos, Ramos and Bale in this game. Real Madrid is playing nice soccer with a lot of plays through their wings and really fast and precise counter attacks. Real Madrid played Giron in quarterfinals and advanced to semifinals with 2 routine victories. Real doesn’t have any injured players at the moment and are expected to start with their strongest lineup.

The clash between these two teams is known as El Clasico and has always produced a lot of goals, especially in Barcelona. Real Madrid is finally waking up and Barcelona’s defense is shaky I will choose something on goals here.

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
