Barcelona is welcoming Real Sociedad in round 33 of Spanish LaLiga.
Barcelona is playing the best soccer in Europe at the moment and they seem unstoppable. In their last game against Manchester United in Champions League quarterfinals, Barcelona showed all of their power by having 65% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks and massive 92% of correct passes and have won this game 3-0 with 2 goals from Messi and 1 from Coutinho who is finally showing why is he the most expensive player ever bought by Barcelona. Barcelona hasn’t lost any of their 19 games and there isn’t a team in the world who can stop them at the moment. Messi is the leader and top goalscorer in Barcelona with 33 goals and 12 assists in 29 games. Rafinha and Vermaelen are only 2 injured players in the Barcelona team. Many of so-called experts were disputing coach Valverde when he was signed back in July of 2017., but since then Barcelona has won LaLiga and Copa del Rey last season and are at the top of LaLiga again this season and are playing Copa del Rey finals and Champions League semifinals, but more importantly Barcelona is playing attractive and enjoyable soccer with lots of shots and steady defense. Barcelona has scored 81 goals thus far and have conceded 31 goals in 32 matches and haven’t conceded any goals in their last 4 games. Barcelona’s players are filled with confidence and have a shot in winning 3 trophies this season with LaLiga being the first one is they win in this match.
Real Sociedad is a decent team who have scored 38 goals thus far in the season but have conceded 39 goals in 32 matches. Real Sociedad has won only 1 out of their last 6 games, and in their last game against Eibar, Real Sociedad had only 36% ball possession, 2 shots on goal and only 57% of correct passes but their defense stood up and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Real Sociedad is holding 10th place in the standings with 41 points and are safe outside the relegation zone, but still, have some minimum chances of qualifying for any of the European competitions. Oyarzabal leads Real Sociedad with 12 goals while Jose added 10 goals. Illararmanedi, Zurutuza, and Moreno are injured while Januzaj is listed as questionable. Real Sociedad has conceded at least 1 goal in last 7 games and haven’t shown any signs of improvement since signing the new head coach Barrenetxea back in December of 2018., who will most likely be fired at the end of the season. Real Sociedad has a lot of potential with players like Jose, Junami, Oyarzbal, Illarramendi, and Januzaj and if the management will be able to keep these players, Real Sociedad will fight for one of the top 6 spots next season.
Barcelona hasn’t lost any of their last 6 games against Real Sociedad and has scored 16 goals during that period. Barcelona has a chance here to win LaLiga title 3 weeks before the end of the season and because Barcelona is a much better team in much better form and Real Sociedad is playing awful, I think Barcelona gets it done here.
