Feyenoord Rotterdam will continue their preseason in Switzerland as they take on FC Basel. It was not a good start to the preseason for the Dutch outfit as they were beaten comfortably by 3 goals in the game they played against Young Boys. While these results are not important, it is not a good sign when a team is losing by 3 goals. The manager and the players at Feyenoord Rotterdam will be well aware of this and they will look to put up a much better performance against FC Basel.
Not many of the top players played for Feyenoord Rotterdam with the likes Robin Van Persie not making the team. It is unclear whether there will be much change heading into this game but I will not be surprised if the Dutch outfit plays the same players. It is important to give most players a chance to play in preseason and while many of these players are not going to make the first team, it will be a good chance for the manager to see what he has at his disposal. This game will be a good chance for the players that failed in the game against Young Boys to prove their worth so it will be interesting to see if the result is different in this game.
On the other side of the coin, FC Basel will also see this as a chance to try some players. The Swiss side is stacked with quality but it is unlikely the top players like Xhaka and Frei will take the pitch. 2017/2018 was an interesting year for FC Basel as they came second in the domestic competition. While this is not a bad result, FC Basel would have expected to win and they will be desperate to improve this season. This game will be a good chance to see what players are playing well for FC Basel.
I am not going to predict a result since it is impossible considering we have no idea what players will play. The best bet will be the over 2.5 goals since preseason games tend to be high scoring.
