The preseason is well underway for many of the top sides in Europe and as a result, we will be able to see how the teams are building as they prepare for the season to begin in a month. Dutch side Feyenoord Rotterdam will prepare for their season by taking on Young Boys from Switzerland in a preseason friendly. There are tons of exciting players on both sides and it will be interesting to see how the teams play.
Feyenoord Rotterdam are blessed with some incredible talent with the likes of Robin Van Persie and Nicolai Jørgensen and Karim El Ahmadi at the club. The latter two players are not yet back at Rotterdam due to their involvement in the World Cup but it is expected that Dutch legend Robin Van Persie will get some minutes. It will be important for the younger players in the squad to get some minutes since the manager will need to decide which players to keep and which players to send out on loan. Nobody wants to be sent out on loan and it can be expected that the players getting minutes will be putting in 100% effort to show their worth.
It will be a similar story for Young Boys as I am not expecting the big players to play this game. Like Feyenoord Rotterdam, there are many players not back from the World Cup so this game will be an exhibition of the younger players. There are many top players at Young Boys and they showed this by winning the league last season. It will be a treat to watch some of the young talents in this game.
It is always hard to predict these games since it is never clear which players will be playing. That being said, I am going to side with Young Boys winning this game. Much more of the Young Boys side is back with the team and that might mean better players playing for the Swiss side. Betting on Young Boys to win is the only option I see but it is not the best bet since these pre-season friendlies are never good value.
