France vs Rep of Ireland 26 June 2016: Euro 2016 Preview and Predictions

France as the host nation will take on the Republic of Ireland as both teams look to secure a spot in the quarter final of this year’s Euro competition. Both teams will be determined to win since so much is at stake so once again there will be a lot of pressure on both sides, especially France that have the whole nation to keep happy.

The Irish showed fight as they snuck through with a win against Italy in the last game of the group stages. This game will be another test for the Irish and after beating Italy, they will feel as if they could win this game. That being said, I don’t think this will be the case because they will be up against the host nation with the much stronger side and the much greater fan support.

France will have a lot of expectations of the to win this game and if they play well they should. I think it will be important that their players start to get into some form but that is not essential for this game. The likes of Pogba, Payet and Martial are all superstar and I think they will win with their sheer talent.

As far as betting is concerned, I don’t think there is a good reason to bet for France since we are getting such a short price. That being said, there are still good bets and they are in the form of the goal line. This should be a low scoring game considering the pressure on this game so as a result I am going to take the under 2.5 goals as my bet for this game.

Under 2.5 Goals
