Top-flight action in France is on offer this week as Round 16 of the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season is upon us. There are some interesting midweek matchups, with Angers and Marseille going head-to-head at the top end of the table. Who will come out on top when Lyon host Lille? St-Etienne and Nice meet in an important mid-table clash.

Here are the best bets for this week’s Ligue 1 fixtures.

Angers vs. Marseille – 12/3/19

It’s 2nd vs. 3rd in Ligue 1 as Angers host Marseille on Tuesday night. Marseille have won their last four league games and are looking like the only genuine challenger to PSG right now. On the other hand, Angers have only won two of their last five games and seem to have hit a sticky patch of form. Marseille will be full of confidence heading into this match and I can see them taking all three points. Angers are the slight outsiders at 2.88, while the draw is at 3.10. However, I’m backing the away side to claim the victory here.

Pick: Marseille to Win – 2.40

Lyon vs. Lille – 12/3/19

Lyon are 7th following four wins in their last five league matches. After a slow start to the season, Lyon have picked up and have been climbing up the ladder in recent weeks. Lille are level with Lyon on 22 points and sit just one place below in the table. Both teams have a record of W6/D4/L5 in the division, so there is very little to separate them at the moment. Lyon are the favorites at 1.91, while a Lille win is at 3.75. With that being said, I’m very tempted by the price for the draw in this game. Neither side will want to lose, so we could see a share of the spoils here.

Pick: The Draw – 3.40

St-Etienne vs. Nice – 12/4/19

St-Etienne and Nice have both endured very inconsistent seasons so far. The home side are 9th in the table with a record of W6/D4/L5. Nice are 12th – two points worse off than St-Etienne – with a record of W6/D2/L7. Both sides are currently sitting on a minus goal difference. St-Etienne have scored 16 and conceded 19, while Nice have scored 20 and conceded 22. Given both team’s poor defensive records, I would be very surprised if both teams don’t score in this matchup.

Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.80
