Strasbourg will be looking to claim a sixth straight win all competitions when they travel to Metz on Saturday. Angers and Nice are set for their mid-table battle, while Rennes and Marseille clash at the top end.

Let’s take a look at the best bets for this weekend’s Ligue 1 matchups.

Rennes vs. Marseille – 1/10/20

Its second vs. third as Rennes host Marseille on Friday night. The visitors are five points clear of Rennes, but the home side do have a game in hand. Rennes have won their last five league games on the bounce, while Marseille are unbeaten in eight. It’s set to be a tight game, but I think the away side will come out on top. While Rennes have only just started to pick up some form, Marseille have been consistent throughout the season so far. Due to their away status in the matchup, the odds for a Marseille win are very attractive.

Pick: Marseille to Win – 2.63

Angers vs. Nice – 1/11/20

As we pass the halfway stage in the campaign, just one point separates Angers and Nice in the table. Angers sit eighth after picking up 28 points, while Nice are tenth. Both teams have won eight of their 19 league games this term, but Angers have picked up once more draw than Nice. Looking at the standings, both sides’ poor goal difference stands out. Angers have scored 22 but conceded 24, leaving them with an unhealthy goal difference of –2. Nice have scored one more goal than they’ve conceded, so I think 1.90 for both teams to score in this game is a great price.

Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.91

Metz vs. Strasbourg – 1/11/20

I'm backing another away win here. Metz have won just three of their 19 league games in 2019/20 and come into this game without a victory in their last nine top-flight matchups. After losing to fourth-tier side FC Rouen in the Coupe de France last time out, Metz will be extremely low on confidence. By contrast, Strasbourg have won their last five games in all competitions and appear to be heading in the right direction. Strasbourg are currently 10 points clear of Metz in the table and I’m expecting them to extend that gap to 13 points on Saturday.

Pick: Strasbourg to Win – 2.50
