I’m backing Strasbourg to continue their promising form when Lille visit the Stade de la Meinau on Saturday. Amiens and Toulouse face off in a relegation six-pointer, while Nimes host Monaco.

Let’s check out the best bets for this weekend’s Ligue 1 fixtures.

Strasbourg vs. Lille – 2/1/20

Strasbourg have moved to within a point of Lille in the Ligue 1 standings following an impressive run of results which has seen them win four of their last five games. By contrast, Lille have lost their previous three matches. After being thrashed 5-1 by Monaco, Lille lost to Dijon before suffering defeat against PSG. Strasbourg and Lille are moving in different directions at the moment, so I can see the home side carrying their momentum into this game and claiming another win. Lille are the slight favorites at 2.80, but I think Strasbourg will snatch the points.

Pick: Strasbourg to Win – 2.87

Amiens vs. Toulouse – 2/1/20

Amiens host Toulouse on Saturday for an important battle at the bottom of the table. Toulouse are rock bottom with just three wins to their name in 2019/20 and come into this game on the back of eleven straight defeats. Amiens are eighteenth – six points ahead of Toulouse – and have failed to win any of their previous nine league matches. Both teams will be desperate to claim all three points. But perhaps more importantly, neither side will want to lose this game. For that reason, I think this matchup will end in a draw.

Pick: The Draw – 3.50

Nimes vs. Monaco – 2/1/20

Nimes are nineteenth and have lost 12 of their 21 league this term, while Monaco are thirteenth with a record of W8-D5-L8. Only league leaders PSG have scored more goals than Monaco in the division, but just two teams conceded more. Monaco’s inconsistency has left them stuck in mid-table, while both teams have scored in six of their previous seven games in all competitions. Nimes are the home side in this matchup, so despite their inferior league position, I expect them to put up a fight. Monaco’s poor defensive record means both teams to score is the best bet for this matchup.

Pick: Both Teams to Score – 1.66

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
