Genoa is welcoming Inter in round 30 of Italian Serie A.

Genoa had a really bad start of the season and have changed their coach 3 times this season with latest being Cesare Prandelli who was signed back in December. Since Prandelli’s hire Genoa has played much better soccer and have climbed the standings to 13thplace and are safe outside the relegation zone. In their last game against Udinese, Genoa was much better team with 62% ball possession, 6 shots on goal and 81% of correct passes but were unable to score a goal and have lost that game 2-0. After departure of Genoa’s best player Piatek few months ago, Genoa just couldn’t find a decent replacement in the offensive part of the field and that is the main reason why Genoa is not winning more games. Kouame is Genoa’s top goal scorer with 4 goals and 5 assists. Hilijenmark and Criscito are both injured and will not play in this game. Genoa is a decent team with some good young players like Kouame, Sanabria and Romero and coach Prandelli is an Italian legend and probably best long-term solution as Genoa’s coach and if this team stays together for next season, Genoa could have much better season.

Inter is one of the top teams in Italy and are on 3rd place in standings at the moment with 53 points, only 2 points in front of Milan who are closing in fast. Inter is struggling on the offensive end for a while now and are unable to find decent replacement for their star striker Mauro Icardi. In their last game against Lazio, Inter was the much better team and have dominated throughout the match with 65% ball possession, 7 shots on goal and 88% of correct passes but once again haven’t scored a goal and have lost 0-1. Even though Icardi was suspended for a couple of months, he is still Inter’s top goal scorer with 9 goals and with his situation resolved he is expected to be in the lineup for this match. De Vrij and Martinez are injured and will not play. There are 5 teams in Serie A who are fighting for the last two spots that leads to Champions League and coach Spalletti will need to get his team back on winning track if they want to keep up with Atalanta, Milan and Lazio.

The home team has won last 11 games in this matchup with away team scoring a goal in only 2 of those games but I think Inter has much better team and need this win more to stay in this fight for Champions League.

Inter +110

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
