This is the last round of Bundesliga fixtures before the German top-flight takes its short winter break. Can Leipzig go into the layoff at the top of the pile with another big win this weekend? I’m backing the Bulls to beat Augsburg, while Dortmund and Schalke are set to claim three points against Hoffenheim and Freiburg respectively.

Here are the best bets for this week’s Bundesliga ties.

Hoffenheim vs. Borussia Dortmund – 12/20/19

After a shaky run, Dortmund have turned things around in recent weeks. They are on a five-game unbeaten streak and have been scoring goals for fun of late. Dortmund have scored two or more goals in each of their last five matches. On the other hand, Hoffenheim have only won one of their last five league games and have slipped to ninth in the table. I’m backing Dortmund to win this game in style. Hoffenheim are struggling at the moment, while Dortmund appear to be back to their best.

Pick: Borussia Dortmund to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 2.20

Schalke 04 vs. SC Freiburg – 12/21/19

Freiburg started the season well, but they are beginning to fall off the pace a little. They have lost three of their last four games and are now four points behind Saturday’s opponents Schalke in sixth. In contrast, Schalke have won three of their last five games and are only one point behind Dortmund and Bayern. They also boast the third-best defensive record in the division. Freiburg’s poor run looks set to continue, so I can see Schalke claiming all three points in this matchup.

Pick: Schalke 04 to Win – 1.62

RB Leipzig vs. Augsburg – 12/21/19

Leipzig are sitting pretty at the top of the table after winning six of their last seven league matches. The Bulls are the league’s top scorers with 45 goals in 16 games (at an average of just under three goals per game). Augsburg have been playing well recently, but they still find themselves down in tenth place. They also have the worst defensive record of all the teams in the top 12. Leipzig have scored three or more goals in each of their last seven league games. For that reason, I can see them winning both halves against Augsburg.

Pick: RB Leipzig to Win Half Time/Full Time – 1.73

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
