German Bundesliga: Best Bets – Round 5 – Odds, Predictions, and Picks
Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:10 AM (Germany)
RB Leipzig look set to extend their unbeaten run to five Bundesliga matches as they face an inconsistent Werder Bremen side on Saturday. Freiburg are also aiming to remain undefeated, while Hertha and Paderborn battle it out at the bottom.
Here are the best bets for the Bundesliga - Round 5.
Hertha BSC vs. Paderborn – 9/21/19
Hertha and Paderborn are the only two Bundesliga teams without a league win this season. Hertha are bottom of the table, while Paderborn sit one place above Hertha having scored 2 more goals. Both teams are sitting on an unhealthy goal difference of –7, and this tie is already looking like an important relegation ‘six-pointer’. The two teams have played just 4 games each but have conceded a whopping 22 goals between them already. For that reason, this bet simply looks too good to miss, and betting on both teams to score in both halves offers a seriously good price considering both side’s defensive records.
Pick: Both Teams to Score in Both Halves – 8.00
Werder Bremen vs. RB Leipzig - 9/21/19
Werder Bremen have made an indifferent start to the 2019/20 campaign by picking up 2 wins and 2 defeats from their first 4 matches. On the other hand, Leipzig find themselves top of the table after winning their first 3 games and drawing with Bayern Munich in Round 4. Leipzig have been scoring at an average of 2.5 goals per game so far, while Bremen have conceded 9 times in 4 matches. I’m expecting Leipzig to continue their fine start to the season, and given that Bremen are leaking goals at the back, over 2.5 goals is looking likely.
Pick: RB Leipzig to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 2.17
SC Freiburg vs. Augsburg - 9/21/19
Freiburg are the surprise package in the Bundesliga this season. They currently sit 3rd – ahead of reigning champions Bayern Munich – after winning 3 of their 4 league games this term. On the other hand, Augsburg have lost 2 of their opening 4 games, and are sitting on a goal difference of –4. The bookies are offering 1.91 for a home win, and this is already a great price for a Freiburg victory. However, bearing in mind that Freiburg are certainly overachieving this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if they concede a goal on their way to victory against Augsburg.
Pick: SC Freiburg to Win and Both Teams to Score – 3.40
