Another game that will see a far superior Mexico taking on a huge underdog in Guatemala. Mexico are missing Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez who got injured in a pre tournament friendly, it didnt seem to affect them in the opening game against Cuba though as Peralta, Vela and Dos Santos ran riot scoring six in an impressive display. Mexico under coach Herrera have always played an attractive style. Mexico have quality players throughout the side though and Vela the Real Sociedad striker is the key man for the side. Peralta scored a hat trick in the opening game and showed the quality that is playing in the Mexican league. This is a good mix of youth and experience and Mexico are here to win the tournament.
Guatemala were beaten by Trinidad because of their terrible defending, the come up against a much better side here in Mexico and if they make the same defensive mistakes then Mexico will show no mercy and this could be another five or six goal game. Guatemala created plenty of chances though especially in the second half and showed they have an ability to get the ball in the right area. Ruiz, Pappa and Contreras played as a front three against Trinidad I think that this formation reverts to a five in midfield. Guatemala will try to frustrate Mexico here but it is a big ask.
Tough one to find some value in here and I dont like taking teams against big handicap numbers, Mexico will probably cover the handicap but it still doesnt represent value for me. Instead I am again going to other markets, taking Mexico to get six or more corners at evens. Mexico should dominate possession here and I think they get alot of wing play which should lead to the corners.
