With the Gold Cup down to the last eight it's quarter finals and knockout time and on Saturday two of the fairytale teams wil collide with Haiti meeting Jamaica. Haiti have been the surprise package of the tournament thus far managing to come second in the United States group and losing a nail biter against the states in the second group game. Player of the tournament for Haiti so far has to be Nazon who has netted both their goals in teh tournament and looked a constant threat every time Haitit have gone forward.
Jamaica themselves proved to be a very under estimated side as they ended up winning Group B with a credible draw against Costa Rica 2-2 and beating El Salvador and Canada. All is not well within the camp though as Alvas Powell has left the squad due to what is being described as a differing of opinions with the manager. English based Garath Mcleary has been excellent for the Reggae Boys and he and his efforts have not gone unnoticed. Jamaica are definitely the stronger team here but theh do look like they will need to find some inspiration up front if they are to get the win here. Barnes and Mattocks will be the key attackign duo and one that I am sure Jamaica will look to grab with both hands
Tough one here to call and one that I am sure will go down to the wire. For this reason I am taking a draw at half time. Haiti will no doubt come out and try to play on the counter attack but this could suit Jamaica if they take their chances. Either way though I think this one represents value and I will taking it myself tomorrow for a full 4 units.
