We have some midweek MLS action on Tuesday from the BBVA Compass Stadium as the Houston Dynamo host LAFC in a Western Conference clash.

Houston Dynamo come into this match rested after having a week off following a 3-2 loss at Sporting Kansas City in their last outing. Mauro Manotas secured a first half brace for Houston, scoring in the 2nd and 45th minutes before Sporting KC stormed back with three goals in the 2nd half, including two goals in three minutes in the 85th and 88th minutes to tie and give KC the win. Houston were outpossessed 62%-38%, and outshot 22-17 and 9-6 in regards to shots on target. Manotas and Albert Elis are tied for the team lead with 8 goals apiece, while Romell Quioto leads the Dynamo with 6 assists this season.

LAFC come into this fixture as winners of their last three matches, including a 4-1 win over Philadelphia Union in their last outing. Adam Diomande secured a first half brace of his own, scoring a pair of goals 18 minutes apart in the 25th and 43rd minutes before Philadelphia equalized just before the halftime whistle. Diomande finished off the hat trick in the 55th minute before Latif Blessing added a 4th goal for LAFC deep in stoppage time. LAFC out possessed Philadelphia 54%-46%, and outshot the Union 11-10, including 8-2 in terms of shots on target. Diomande and Carlos Vela are tied for the team lead with 7 goals each while Blessing, Diego Rossi and Marcos Arena are tied for the team lead with 4 assists each this season.

This will be the first all time meeting between these two teams.

Houston Dynamo have been strong at home, winning each of their last five home matches. However, LAFC have been the more consistent of the two sides, winning three straight and bouncing back from their recent winless stretch last month. Houston has been a mixed bag of results and I think LAFC has been playing well enough to warrant backing them on the road in this one.
