Hungary vs. Croatia - 3/24/19 Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Hungary is welcoming Croatia in round 2 of Euro Cup qualification.

Hungary is very good team who hasn’t lost any of their last 3 home games and have score 6 goals and conceded only 1 goal I those 3 matches. In their last game against Slovakia 3 days ago, Hungary didn’t play so well and had only 44% ball possession with 5 shots on goal and only 77% of correct passes and ended up losing this game 2-0. Hungary’s coach is Italian expert Marco Rossi who was signed back in June of 2018 when former coach Leekens had only 1 win in 6 matches. In last years Nations League, Hungary ended up second behind Finland with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Adam Szalai and Wilii Orban are Hungary’s best players who both play in Bundesliga. Hungary are pretty good team and are playing nice, offensive soccer and have enough quality to make every teams life harder but on the other hand Hungary doesn’t have enough quality to compete with top dogs of European soccer.

Croatia played a game against Azerbaijan in round 1 of qualifications 3 days ago and has won 2-1 which proved to harder then is should have been. Croatia dominated throughout entire match with 73% ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 13 corner kicks and 89% of correct passes. Luka Modric, voted as best player in the world is the leader and captain of Croatian team and alongside Rakitic and Kramaric who scored wining goal were best players of the match. Croatia is one of the best teams in Europe and deservedly so because Croatia is playing nice and enjoyable soccer with lots of shot passes and plays through their wingers which allows them to create space and get extra man in the midfield. Croatia is top favorite to win their group with Slovakia, Hungary, Wales and Azerbaijan and is one of the main favorites to win Euro Cup. After World Cup in Russia last year some players like Madzukic, Subasic and Corluka who were all some of the key players have retired but with young talents like Vlasic, Brekalo, Rog, Pasalic and Bartolec, Croatia’s future is safe.

I believe this will be tough game for both teams and last three games between these teams ended up in a draw but Croatia has a better team and is playing in a better form at the moment so I’m going to give the edge to Croatia to win their second game in these qualifications.

Croatia -134

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
