Italian Serie A: Best Bets – Round 18 – Odds, Predictions, and Picks
Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 2:11 PM (Italy)
Italian top-flight action returns this weekend following the traditional winter break. The first half of the 2019/20 Serie A campaign has been thrilling, and there’s still all to play for at both the top and the bottom of the table.
Let’s check out the best bets for the upcoming Serie A fixtures.
Brescia vs. Lazio – 01/05/20
Brescia and Lazio have both enjoyed very different seasons so far. Brescia are currently sitting in the relegation zone with just four wins from 17 games, while Lazio are third with 11 wins to their name. The Rome outfit have won their last eight league games and are unbeaten in their last 11. In addition, only Atalanta have scored more goals in the division than Lazio. I can see Lazio winning this game comfortably, but the away win is only at 1.44. However, if you back Lazio to win both halves, the odds are far more attractive.
Pick: Lazio to Win Half Time/Full Time – 2.20
Bologna vs. Fiorentina – 01/06/20
Prior to the winter break, Bologna won three of their previous four games. This run lifted the club into the top half of the table and they are now just two points behind Napoli. On the other hand, Fiorentina have lost four of their last five league games and now sit just three points clear of the relegation zone. Given the contrasting form of the two teams, I believe Bologna will claim this victory here. Odds of 2.40 for a home win are excellent, especially when you consider these sides are heading in opposite directions at the moment.
Pick: Bologna to Win – 2.40
Juventus vs. Cagliari – 01/06/20
Juventus are level with first-place Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A table. Maurizio Sarri’s side have only lost one of their 17 league games this term, putting them in a great position to challenge for the title once again. Cagliari have been one of the surprise packages this year. The Sardinia-based side are sixth – four points clear of seventh-place Parma. Both these teams have scored plenty of goals this season, but neither side has been too impressive at the back. A Juventus win is at 1.22, but I think we’ll see a few goals in this game. Add the both teams to score market into the mix to enhance your odds.
Pick: Juventus to Win and Both Teams to Score – 2.60
