Italian Serie A: Best Bets – Round 20 – Odds, Predictions, and Picks
Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 7:21 PM (UK)
Can Lazio keep pace with Juventus and Inter at the top of the table with an eleventh straight victory this weekend? I’m expecting in-form Torino to get the better of Sassuolo, while Milan and Udinese aren’t likely to produce too many goals when they clash on Sunday.
Let’s take a look at the best bets for this week’s Serie A fixtures.
Lazio vs. Sampdoria – 1/18/20
Lazio’s remarkable ten-game winning streak has kept them firmly in this season’s title race. Simone Inzaghi’s side are currently third – seven points ahead of fourth-place Atalanta and six points behind league-leaders Juventus. The Rome outfit are also the division’s second highest scorers in 2019/20. On the other hand, Sampdoria are hovering just above the relegation zone after winning just five of their 19 league games this term. A Lazio win is at 1.36 at the moment. However, if you back the home side to win both halves, the odds become a lot more attractive.
Pick: Lazio to Win Half Time/Full Time – 2.00
Sassuolo vs. Torino – 1/18/20
Sassuolo and Torino have been moving in different directions in the Serie A table recently. Four wins in their last six games have seen Torino move up to eighth in the standings, while a run of three straight defeats mean Sassuolo find themselves in fifteenth place. To make matters worse, just three sides in the division have conceded more goals than Sassuolo this season. Following a string of promising results, Torino will come into this game full of confidence, so odds of 2.50 for the away victory are looking very tasty here.
Pick: Torino to Win – 2.50
AC Milan vs. Udinese – 1/19/20
Just one point separates Milan and Udinese in the table. Milan are tenth with 25 points, while Udinese are twelfth on 24. Interestingly, both sides are amongst the lowest scorers in the Italian top-flight this term. Only the bottom two clubs – Brescia and SPAL – have scored fewer goals than Milan and Udinese, but their defensive records aren’t too bad. Milan have conceded 24 in 19 games, while Udinese have let in 28. Given their respective records at both ends of the pitch, all the signs are pointing towards a low-scoring encounter on Sunday. Under 2.5 goals makes sense.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals – 1.80
