Italian Serie A: Best Bets – Round 3 – Odds, Predictions, and Picks
Serie A is slightly behind schedule compared to Europe’s other top leagues, but we’ve already seen some incredible matches in the first two rounds.
This week, Napoli take on Sampdoria while Inter and Torino look to maintain their 100% records as they host Udinese and Lecce respectively.
As Round 3 fast approaches, here are the best bets for the upcoming set of games.
Napoli vs. Sampdoria – 9/14/19
Remarkably, Napoli have been involved in fourteen goals in their first two matches. They have scored seven goals but have also conceded the same amount, recording one win and one loss so far. Saturday’s opponents Sampdoria are yet to claim a point this season and sit at the bottom of the Serie A table with a goal difference of –6. Napoli are the clear favorites to win this one, and while they should out-score the visitors, I expect Sampdoria to snatch a goal given Napoli’s poor defensive record. Serie A’s top goal scorer last season, Fabio Quagliarella, is a constant threat for Sampdoria, and although Napoli should win, the 36-year-old will be keen to get on the score sheet.
Pick: Napoli to Win and Both Teams to Score – 2.44
Inter Milan vs. Udinese - 9/14/19
Inter are top of Serie A following an impressive start to the season. They are one of three teams with a 100% record so far but sit at the top of the pile with a far superior goal difference. Inter have been leading at half-time in both their league matches this season and have also gone on to win the second half on both occasions. On the other hand, Udinese are yet to lead at half-time this term and have managed just two goals. Taking everything into consideration, I can see Inter winning both halves on Saturday, and you can almost double your money by betting on them to do so.
Pick: Inter Milan to Win Half Time/Full Time – 1.91
Torino vs. Lecce - 9/16/19
Like Inter, Torino have also claimed two wins for their first two matches. They have scored five goals in the process and look to be in fine form at the start of the new campaign. By contrast, Lecce have lost their opening two games and have failed to find the back of the net so far this season. Given Lecce’s poor goal-scoring record and Torino’s free-flowing attack, it’s difficult to envisage anything other than a convincing home win on Monday. Torino are likely to score a couple, while keeping Lecce quiet at the other end.
Pick: Torino to Win, Keep a Clean Sheet and Over 1.5 Goals – 3.43
