Japan vs Australia 31 August 2017: WC Qualifiers Preview and Predictions

USA TODAY Sports

Japan take on Australia in what should be a big game in regards to qualifying for the World Cup. These are two of the best teams in the Asian region of the world and by facing off against one another, we should get a really good game.

Australia will be away from home for this game and that will not make things easy for this team since being away from home in Japan is a tough task. This team has had a lot of problems with injuries and a lack of development so it will be hard for the Australian to improve. Mooy is playing well in the Premier League at the moment but other than that, this side is struggling and that will make things hard for them as they take on Japan.

Japan, on the other hand, is one of the most in-form teams. Okasaki is playing really well for Leicester City and he will ensure that the home side will have goals come the time of the game. Honda has moved away from AC Milan and the Japanese midfielder is getting game time. This means he will have some hours and his skill will definitely help provide goals. Honda and his link with Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund will mean that the Japanese will have a really strong midfield.

With all that in mind, I think we can safely predict that Japan will win this game at home. We are getting even money on this bet which I think is good enough for this bet so I think it is the best option for this game in term of placing a wager. I think this might be a low scoring game since neither team has immense goals in them so the under 2.5 goals is also a good option.
