Juventus is welcoming Empoli in round 29 of Italian Serie A
Juventus is the strongest team in Italy and are playing the best soccer at the moment and are holding 1st place in the standings with 24 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss. Juventus has best offense in Serie A with 59 scored goals led by Madzukic and Cristiano Ronaldo and best defense in Serie A with only 19 conceded goals led by Bonucci and Chiellini. Ronaldo is Juventus’ best player and top goal scorer with 19 goals and added 7 assists fallowed by Mandzukic who scored 8 goals. In their last game against Genoa, Juventus got caught off guard and have lost this game where they had 60% ball possession but 0 shots on goal. Juventus are playing nice and enjoyable soccer by controlling the midfield and playing mostly through their wingers. Cuadrado, Costa, Barzgali and Ronaldo are all injured and will not play but coach Allegri has enough debt on bench to cover for these injured players. Juventus have qualified to Champions League quarterfinals after beating Atletico Madrid 3-0 in what turned out to be perfect match for Juventus and if they want to stay in good form, Juventus has to keep winning even though they are 15 points ahead of Napoli in Serie A standings and have basically won another title already.
Empoli are just playing poor soccer all around and are fighting for their lives in Serie A with 3 more teams. Empoli have score only 15 goals so far into the season but their defense has problems from the beginning of the season and have conceded 36 goals. Francesco is Empoli’s top goal scorer with 13 goals while Krunic added 4 assists. Empoli have won only 2 out of their last 9 games and still haven’t won an away game this season. In their last game against Frosinone, Empoli actually played good soccer and have had 48% ball possession, 5 shots on target and have won that game 2-1 which really helped them staying outside relegation zone for now. Antonelli, Polvani, La Gumina and Silvestre are injured and will not play in this game. Empoli really isn’t playing good soccer on either end of the field and coach Andreazzoli is doing everything he can to improve his team but the team itself just doesn’t have enough quality to be higher in the standings.
Juventus is at least 2 levels above Empoli quality vise and will want to bounce back from their loss against Genoa with a nice win in front of their fans.
