Last year’s Leicester City side seems to have taken a massive hit as their key central midfielder N’Golo Kante has left in order to join Chelsea. The French international was key to the Foxes win last season and I think he will be a great addition to the Blues.
Last season Chelsea seemed to lack heart and hard work and Kante will fix this problem. Kante is an ideal example of a work horse and he will not only add a ton of stability in front of the back four, but he will also be a valuable asset going forward. Chelsea have a lot of talented, creative players with the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Oscar and Cesc Fabregas so the addition of Kante will give these players a lot more freedom since they will know that they have a reliable player behind them. Chelsea have a lot of rebuilding to do after the disaster that was last season and signing the Leicester City Premiership winning player is a great start.
So what does this mean for Leicester City? For sure this is a big blow. Kante was a key player for them and in this day and age, it will be tough to replace him considering how much money other clubs have. That being said, the Foxes have money and their manager is one of the best in the world so I expect them to have a plan since Kante leaving should not have come as a surprise to them.
It is understood that Kante chose Chelsea over other teams such as Champions League champions, Real Madrid. The sale N’Golo Kante will see Leicester City receive fee of around 32 million pounds which is big profit for the club considering they bought the French player for only 5.6 million pound one season ago.
