We have some midweek soccer action from Major League Soccer, as FC Dallas pays a visit to the StubHub Centre to take on the Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday night.
FC Dallas come into this one unbeaten in their last four matches, posting two wins and two draws including a 1-0 road victory over Toronto FC in their last outing to climb to 4-1-5 this season. Max Urruti slotted home his 6th goal of the season from the top of the box, low to TFC goalkeeper Clint Irwin’s left in the 11th minute, and that was all the Hoops would need to secure all three points. Dallas dodged a bullet in the 17th minute however as Sebastian Giovinco missed a penalty for TFC that would’ve drawn the Reds even. Urruti’s marker gives him the team lead with six goals this season, while Roland Lamah is right behind in 2nd with five goals along with a team-high four assists. Urruti also leads FC Dallas with 28 shots, 15 on target this season.
The Los Angeles Galaxy will be looking to build on back-to-back victories after snagging a 1-0 victory over San Jose in their last outing to improve to 5-6-1 this season. Romain Alessandrini notched his first goal of the year in superb fashion, scoring from about 30 yards out just under the crossbar. Ola Kamara ended up having his four game scoring streak snapped, but still leads Los Angeles with five goals this season with a team-high 24 shots, 11 on target. Ashley Cole and Ema Boating are tied for the Galaxy lead in the assists with three apiece up to this point in the season, with Boating assisting on the aforementioned Alessandrini’s goal in the victory over the Quakes.
FC Dallas have had the upper hand over the Galaxy in recent years, winning four of the last five meetings with the one other matchup ending in a scoreless draw. However, in the 13 times that these two teams have met since 2013, 11 meetings have seen both teams end up on the scoresheet, so I would side with FC Dallas to continue their strong run but trends would also suggest seeing the Galaxy end up on the board as well here, so I’d take FC Dallas to win as the main bet, and to increase the value possibly take both teams to score.
