LA Galaxy vs Portland Timbers 4 March 2018: MLS Soccer Preview and Predictions

The MLS is back underway and in the first round of games, LA Galaxy will host Portland Timbers. Both teams will be desperate to start the new season well and as a result, both teams should try to win. This attitude should ensure that we get a good game of soccer.

LA Galaxy finished bottom of the Western Conference last season and for a franchise like the Galaxy, this is not acceptable. The off-season has been big and the Galaxy have added many players to strengthen their squad. It is important to note that LA Galaxy have plenty of talent and experience in the squad and as a result, it is going to be important that the players work well together.

On the other side of the coin, Portland Timbers finished top of the Western Conference last season. This is a top side and they showed how dangerous they can be last season and I am sure that the entire team will want to continue from where they left off last season. This will not be an easy game since LA Galaxy is never an easy team to visit and I am expecting the home side to be greatly improved from last season. Portland will need to play well if they wish to win away from home against Galaxy.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to predict that we get a draw. Portland are the better side but at home, I think the Galaxy are good enough to get a draw. We are getting a good enough price to wager on the draw and as a result that is the bet which I am going to suggest for this game.
