Round 2 of the 2019/20 La Liga campaign was an extremely low scoring one, with eight of the ten matches producing two or less goals.
However, the final match of the weekend saw Barcelona thrash Real Betis 5-2 at the Camp Nou, which meant seven of the eighteen goals in Round 2 came in a single match.
Only Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have a 100% record so far while Leganes and Real Betis are both without a point to their name so far.
There’s plenty of money to be made by delving deep into the betting markets in La Liga, so let’s take a look at best top-flight bets in Spain this week.
Sevilla vs. Celta Vigo – 8/30/19
Sevilla are sitting pretty at the top of La Liga following the opening two matches of the season. They are yet to concede a goal and have picked up two impressive away wins. On the other hand, Celta Vigo have three points from a possible six but have only managed two goals so far this season. Considering Sevilla’s excellent start and their perfect defensive record, they are set to win without conceding in their first home league match of the new campaign.
Pick: Sevilla to Win and Keep a Clean Sheet – 2.77
Osasuna vs. Barcelona - 8/31/19
Barcelona have scored five goals in their first two matches but have also let in three at the other end. Despite their usual free-scoring ability, they have been below par at the back. Osasuna are unbeaten after a draw and a win and will be confident of finding the back of the net when Barcelona come to town on Saturday. The visitors are expected to claim the victory, but I think Osasuna will get on the score sheet given Barcelona’s current poor defensive record.
Pick: Barcelona to Win and Both Teams to Score – 3.11
Getafe vs. Alaves - 8/31/19
With just four goals between them in their first two matches, it’s no surprise that I’ve chosen a goal scoring market for Getafe vs. Alaves. The visitors have managed just one goal from their first two matches while Getafe have a goal difference of –1. I’m expecting this match to be a close encounter and more importantly, a low scoring one. Under 1.5 goals currently offers attractive odds of 2.4, but I think the more realistic bet is under 2.5 goals.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals – 1.4
