Lazio and Fiorentina battle it out on Monday night with Champions League football at stake. A win for Lazio lifts them above Napoli and into third in the league and the last Champions League qualifying place. Fiorentina can go fourth if they can manage an away win tonight but it's going to be tough. Fiorentina look to have made one of the deals of the January window by selling Quadrado for £20+million and receiveing Mohamad Salah in return. Salah has scored six goals in his last four games and has been a sensation since swapping London for Fiorentina. With a solid defence and an attack that has found a spark in Salah, Fiorentina are the form team in the league at the moment and will fancy their chances of taking something from tonights game at the Stadio Olympico.
Lazio have come good of late winning three of their last four in all competitions. With an experienced front line led by Miroslav Klose with Candreva and Felipe Anderson on the wings of a front three this is a side that are going to be tough to beat. Lazio though have struggled a little of late at home losing two of their last five and drawing with Napoli in the Coppa Italia semi final midweek. Lazio do look like a side that are going to finish the season strong, they have experience and a good blend of youth. This is a tough game for Lazio though and a win here can bring them to the cusp of the Champions League. There are questions about Lazio's bottle though with the team passing up a number of opportunities already this season to move into the top three, will the pressure prove too much on Monday night?
Really tough game to handicap here, the problem here is both teams are talented and Fioretina have shown something in their last three games that they havent had all season. Resolve and real attacking talent in Salah. I am going to take Fiorentina on the handicap here. I think they can come away from the Stadio Olympico with a point.
