In the English Premier League, Liverpool will play against Burnley at home at Anfield.
Liverpool lost their top spot on the Premier League last weekend after they drew against Everton at Goodison Park. It was a relatively poor performance by the Liverpool strikers as the team had a shot on target percentage of only 30%. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all failed to score which cost Liverpool the win. The midfield was also relatively poor as the team had a pass accuracy of only 75%. This Liverpool team is filled with quality players and it is very likely that they will bounce back strongly and maintain a fight for the title against Manchester City.
On the other side of the coin, Burnley had a poor game last weekend as they were beaten at home by Crystal Palace. The team had the majority of the ball but the Burnley strikers were very poor as they failed to convert their chances. The defence was also poor for Burnley as they conceded 3 goals at home. Burnley have lost two games in a row which means that the team is back in a battle for survival. Travelling to Anfield is a tough task and it will be a difficult game for Burnley.
Burnley and Liverpool met earlier in the season in a match which Liverpool won 2-1 away from home. Sadio Mane and Ragnar Klavan were the star performers for Liverpool as they scored the 2 goals.
As far as this match is concerned, I am going to pick Liverpool to win and get 3 points at home. The Reds are the stronger side and they have been playing well in general. Burnley have struggled over the past few weeks and I see them continuing their losing ways away from home at Anfield.
