The biggest talking point for Liverpool after their last preseason friendly was goalkeeper Lauren Karius. The German made another fatal mistake and it looks like he is very poorly out of form and low on confidence. This week Liverpool will play another match, this time against Bury in hope to give their goalkeeper a confidence boost.
A 2-3 win against Tranmere Rovers is a result that would have concerned the management heavily. While Liverpool did manage to dominate the game, the result was far worse than what it could have been. It was unfortunate that the defense didn’t play well and that is something that the team needs to improve. The likes of Nathaniel Clyne, Ragnar Klavan, Andrew Robertson and Alberto Moreno all played this game and considering they are first team players, it was not acceptable that 2 goals were conceded. This must improve or there will be trouble once the season starts.
As far as Bury are concerned, this is a great chance for the team to experience what top football is like. The seats should all be sold out and the fans should flock in to watch their local team play against the superstars of Liverpool. Nobody expects Bury to do anything but lose but after watching Tranmere Rovers last week, the Bury players will try to keep this match competitive. Bury are a League One side so all the players should be professional meaning this will be the hardest team that Liverpool have faced this preseason.
Liverpool will win this match. I don’t think any other result is possible. That being said, we should not bet on Liverpool winning since we are getting incredibly short odds. The best bet is the over 3.5 goals which should win since I expect Liverpool to score 4 goals at the minimum. This should be a safe wager so a larger sized wager is suggested.
