The Reds take on the Blues this week in what was once a very important game in the English Premier League season. This year the game has very little meaning with the Liverpool players looking towards the Europa League final in Basel while the Chelsea players are looking towards their holiday in the Bahamas. Nothing but pride will be on the line and this time I think even the player aren’t bothered about that.
Chelsea showed what a terrible season it was as they game away a lead twice against Sunderland which saw them lose in embarrassing fashion. This week they will want to win in an attempt to please the fans but the fans might not even care anymore since this side has failed way too often. Chelsea might look to play some younger players and this will be a great place to give them some first team experience. I think that is the best option for the manager since it looks like the senior players just don’t care anymore.
The Liverpool players on the other hand will want to impress Klopp in an attempt to get a spot in the 11 when they play in Basel for the Europa League title. This is the only motivation for the Reds and that should be enough for them to win at home. This side has failed as well but the European performance allows something to be salvaged from this season.
As far as betting is concerned, I think that taking Liverpool is a pretty safe bet. We are getting 2.00 which is ok so I guess if you want to wager on this game it is a plausible option. That being said, this is not the best game to bet on since neither team really cares so it could go either way.
