In the UEFA Champions League, Liverpool will host FC Barcelona for the second leg of the semifinal tie. FC Barcelona lead the tie 3-0 after the opening leg at the Camp Nou.

Liverpool played midweek in a match against Newcastle United where the Reds won 3-2 away from home. It was a shaky performance by the Reds as they lost the lead twice but Divock Origi scored in the 84th minute to give Liverpool the 3 points. The defence looked fatigued for Liverpool as they conceded 2 goals against a Newcastle side that has lacked attacking skills all season. The midfield and the attack was solid for Liverpool as the Reds controlled 70% of the ball and had 11 shots. Looking at this match, Liverpool need a miracle to overcome Barcelona since they are trailing by 3 goals.

On the other side of the coin, FC Barcelona look very comfortable as they enter this match. It is important to note that the Catalan side lost to Celta Vigo over the weekend. While the loss was not ideal for FC Barcelona, the likes of Messi, Suarez and Pique were rested. FC Barcelona looked dominant during the opening leg and with key players having a break over the weekend, it looks like the team are in a good position to qualify for the final.

During the first leg, Leo Messi was exceptional as the Argentine superstar score two important goals for FC Barcelona. Luis Suarez was also very impressive as the striker created many chances and scored a vital goal.

Liverpool will play a very attacking style of football but I see the Reds losing at home. FC Barcelona are in a very good position and with the lead, they should have plenty of space to create their own chances. Messi and Suarez look in supreme form and I see FC Barcelona being too strong for Liverpool.
