Liverpool vs Porto 6 March 2018: Champions League Soccer Preview and Predictions

Liverpool will be in action in the Champions League as they take on Porto in the second leg of the tie. This tie is all but over after Liverpool had a massive win at Porto and now it will be a chance for Porto to salvage some pride as the team from Portugal makes the trip to Anfield.

If Porto are to have a chance of making it to the next round, they will need to start well. Liverpool won 5-0 so they will need to match that score if they wish to remain in the competition. This is a very stiff ask but I am expecting them to fight. Liverpool have had defensive issues in the past and if Porto can score 2 or 3 goals in the first half, then they might have a chance. In addition to scoring goals, Porto must ensure they keep this special Liverpool attack quite so it might just need a miracle for Porto.

It is unclear whether Liverpool will play their top team since Klopp and his side will feel that they have already qualified for the quarterfinals. I am expecting the likes of Salah and Mane to feature on the bench since there is no need to risk these players when the team is winning by 5 goals. I don’t expect Liverpool to win this game but I expect them to do more than enough to make it to the next stage of the competition.

It is always hard to make predictions in these kinds of games since there are many unknown factors present. That being said, I think this will be a high scoring game since Porto will play open football. The over 2.5 goals is the bet which I am going to suggest.

Over 2.5 goals
